With designer finery in abundance, the star-studded red carpet of the 2017 Golden Globe Awards was definitely what this Monday morning needed. This year, celebrities from Priyanka Chopra Amy Adams seemed to have taken a shine to the metallic trend on the red carpet.
Knowing all eyes were going to be on her, Priyanka Chopra made her Golden Globes debut in a hand-embroidered gold Ralph Lauren gown, going minimal on the accessory front. Loving actress Ruth Negga wore a custom Louis Vuitton dress that reportedly took 120 hours to stitch. Sofia Vergara twinned with Priyanka in a gilded Zuhair Murad gown with cut-outs at the shoulder and was joined by Sarah Paulson in the metal brigade, who opted for a golden floor length Marc Jacobs gown.
When Chrissy Teigen wasn’t busy embodying all of us at a party (she was literally sitting down on the red carpet, chilling like it’s no big deal. Goals, we tell you), she was shining bright in a Marchesa number. Jane the Virgin actress Gina Rodriguez gave us a break from all the gold and made a strong case for silver fringe in a Naeem Khan gown.
Human cupcake, and one half of our favourite Hollywood couple, Blake Lively opted for metallic accents on the shoulders in a Versace gown. Wonder Woman Gal Gadot and her Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice co-star Amy Adams went for metallic sequins detailing instead of all-out metal in Mugler and Tom Ford respectively.
