Watches & Wonders (previously known as SIHH) is one of the most exclusive watches and jewellery industry events. Every year a trade show is organised in Geneva by the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie, where we get to see the hottest new luxury watches. From fashion bigwigs like Louis Vuitton and Chanel to jewellery and watch giants like Bvlgari and Chopard, all the major houses put forward their pièce de résistance of the season.
Here’s our edit of the ten state-of-the-art masterpieces from this year’s showcase at Watches & Wonders 2021
1. Cartier Panthère Songeuse
With its signature motif, the Panther, this creation by Cartier has raised its already soaring bar. The dial is masterfully crafted with alternating columns of ribbons of champlevé enamel and diamonds. The careful placement of the sapphire is yet another testament to the genius of the brand. Exclusivity is the name of the game, as only 30 individually numbered watches are in play.
2. Bvlgari – Divissima And Allegra Cocktail Watches
Bvlgari’s new vibrant cocktail watches celebrate the joy of colour, which is an integral part of the design house’s DNA. Influenced by the golden era of Rome, the latest designs are feminine, whimsical and vivacious. With a vision to be different, the iconic jewellery house has always broken the conventions by using generous-sized gemstones in bright saturated colours, capturing the la Dolce Vita spirit, which is symbolic to the brand.
3. CHANEL – J12 Black Electro Dream
CHANEL’s new Limited edition Black Electro watch comes with a ceramic and steel case. Encrusted with 46 baguette-cut rainbow sapphires and a steel crown set with a dainty diamond, the case back perfectly complements this matte black watch. Inspired by electronic music from the ’90s, the infusion of colour is used to intensify the impact of black and white.
4. Jaeger-LeCoultre – Reverso One Precious Flowers
5. Piaget – Limelight Gala Precious Rainbow
Piaget’s 18-karat yellow gold watch comes with a 32 mm case and an identical bracelet and dial. The watch is ornamented with an array of green tsavorites and coloured sapphires. Each of the stone is specially crafted for the desired cut, colour, carat and clarity by the gemologist, reflecting a rainbow-like setting.
6. Chopard – L.U.C XP Esprit de Fleurier Peony Soldier
A magical symphony of flowers and butterflies, this timepiece is reminiscent of a beautiful garden, one that catches the eyes of all. The delicate femininity of this watch is what makes it exquisite, setting it apart. With hand-painted peonies on the base and those in white mother-of-pearl on the top, alongside an 18-carat rose gold engraved butterfly, this piece is for the ages.
7. Hublot – Classic Fusion Orlinski 40mm
Defining the brand ethos of Hublot, the Classic Fusion timepiece blends art and design in perfect sync. Drawing on elements from French pop artists Richard Orlinski’s ageless faceted art and etched in sensibilities of Hublot, this blue ceramic piece is most definitely a collectable.
8. Rolex – Day-Date
The gem setting on the Rolex Day-Date is exemplary, gorgeous, but not overbearing. 817 diamonds adorn each of the pieces, available in three perfectly executed colour and metal combinations. The alligator leather strap of the watch only adds to its already unparalleled appeal.
9 & 10. Louis Vuitton – Vivienne Bijou Secret & Tambour Spin Time Air Red
