We were kind of hoping that Brewbot had developed a bunch of robots to serve us freshly brewed beers (they haven’t), but the eatery and pub has definitely tapped (no pun intended) into the need for something different in Mumbai’s microbrewery scene.
The two-storey brewpub (designed by Ayaz Basrai of the Busride Project) is scattered with quirky bot quotes and installations. Adding to the industrial feel is the fact that you can sit among the massive brew vats, which hold up to 4,000 litres of freshly-brewed beer. The décor has exposed brick walls spray-painted with tiny little robots, island tables and floor-to-ceiling posters. They also run videos of old bot series such as Johnny Sokko And His Flying Robot that are sure to please the inner manga geek in you. The microbrewery has yet to launch, but you can choose from a selection of cocktails from their pub menu, along with some of their signature dishes such as the goat cheese lollipops stuffed with jalapeños and dates and the stout lamb burger. After guzzling all of those drinks, be sure to try out their caramel panna cotta for desert.
