Le Cordon Bleu-trained pastry chef Pooja Dhingra – who perpetuated the Mumbai’s macaron craze with Le15 Patisserie – has a new venture that goes beyond desserts. It’s been designed by Ayaz Basrai (of The Busride Studio) and it features upholstery by fashion designer Masaba Gupta. The 30-seater Le15 café will feed your appetite as much as your Instagram feed. (PS: Sonam Kapoor has been there already!) On the menu you’ll find all-day breakfast options like parmesan waffles with tomato and basil jam and poached egg, and vegan-friendly meals like the wholesome grains and seeds salad. “We wanted to make sure there’s something for everyone on the menu, that’s why we’ve done vegan and gluten-free options. But there’s also a hearty club sandwich if that’s what you’re in the mood for,” explains chef de cuisine Pablo Naranjo Agular. (By the way, he’s worked at Michelin star restaurants such as Guy Savoy, Alain Senderens and Ze Kitchen Galerie among others. He is in Mumbai for few months to hash out the menu at Le15 Café.) Don’t be surprised if you find us digging into the milk cake with raspberry, mint and pepper crumble in the corner. Bon appetite!
Opens on Thursday, February 11. Le15 Café, Lansdowne House Building, MB Marg, Near Regal Cinema, Apollo Bunder, Colaba
