After bringing us diaspora cuisine with Not Really Indian, Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar is bringing South American flavours to Mumbai with his brand new tapas bar, Lima.
First in the city to specialise in Peruvian ceviches and Mexican street food, Lima offers a mixture of fresh, homegrown ingredients and the best (read: deep-fried) accompaniments to pair with an extensive drinks menu.
Expect small plates like citrus-cured Ceviche de Corvina (Indian sea bass, avocado and red onion) that strikes a balance between sour and spicy; Ceviche de Trucha (a grilled local trout with aji peppers) and Latin American staples like chimichangas (fried burritos) and empanadas (stuffed bread).
The pop-coloured bar embodies the vibrant spirit of the Latin America, and dishes out everything from Pisco Sours to Caipirinha. But us? We’re getting multiple rounds of the Lima Star – with Ciroc, passion fruit and white chocolate, it’s just the perfect antidote to Mondays.
Meal for two with alcohol cost approx Rs 3,000. Maker Maxity, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra (East), Mumbai. Tel: 022 3000 5040
