We went over to the Ministry Of Salads in South Mumbai for its “low-key” soft launch, and post work, the cosy little joint was already buzzing with people.
Two large refrigerated glass cabinets are well stocked with all kinds of greens, grains, lentils, cheese, nuts and other yummy salad ingredients which are at all times, no more than four hours old. You can make your own salad with their helpful salad-making menu, or pick one of their amazing signature salads, prepared by their head chef. We strongly recommend their Big Mix, an invigorating bowl of green apples, summery vegetables and walnuts spritzed with some tart and tangy lemon mirin dressing. At 237 calories, it’s an indulgence worth making the trip for.
Also on offer are a mean selection of sandwiches, drinks and desserts—the crunchy banana yoghurt berry smoothie with granola crackers is not to be missed. If you’re looking to detox, order in the pomegranate, celery and ginger cleanser as a mid-day snack.
Restaurant director Hitesh Keswani’s idea is to make wholesome, super-fresh food sexy again. “I wanted to present a food space that not only speaks highly of the concept of salads but also delivers a quality, delicious, and filling product. A freshly tossed salad can be a whole meal and this is the perception we are here to create.” Ministry of Salads opens its doors proper next Thursday, but is available exclusively on Scootsy. Keswani has plans to open more outlets around the country by the end of the year.
