Hot address: Tamra

Newly opened restaurant, Tamra, lies in the heart of New Delhi but takes inspiration from traditional markets around the world. It’s a new addition to the casual dining scene, with interactive kitchens and an array of offerings from across the globe – think Teppanyaki grills of the Far East and the tandoors of central Asia.

We started with Tamra’s signature cocktails Danny Wild and Plum City and promptly asked for seconds (that should tell you just how good they were).

Then we moved to their impressive brunch spread. We started with a fresh salad of rocket leaves, with candied walnuts, melon and onions, which could’ve done with a tad more dressing. The Teppanyaki rice was a different story; it had a beautiful aroma, subtle and full of flavour. We couldn’t get enough of the steamed dumplings stuffed with mushroom and chicken.

Then came the sushi rolls. We scarfed down the Teka Maki roll stuffed with fresh tuna (the slight kick of wasabi really helped). The wok tossed prawns, were the right mix of sweet and tangy. But Tamra’s signature barbeque chicken was a definite highlight.
