Hot address: Terttulia

Mumbai’s Terttulia has fast become a Sunday favourite for grabbing sangrias in its sunlit outdoors. And now it’s trying to replicate some of its Pune counterpart’s hits by introducing a breakfast spread — which is full of savoury waffles, eggs done every which way and a French toast crème brûlée.

The ham and emmental waffles paired with a sweet-and-savoury maple syrup make for a neat hangover fix – a bit more ham wouldn’t hurt though. There’s a spinach and cheddar version too, which is comforting, but, again, we missed the spinach.

If you don’t want to stray from the tried-and-tested, go for the fluffy omelettes. Mushroom and peppers with herbs, if you’re going easy. Or a loaded bacon and cheese omelette for a Sunday feast.

We nibbled on the crème brûlée French toast which is exactly as decadent as it sounds, with dollops of cream oozing from between the breads, just right if you have a sweet tooth. It comes with a side of crispy bacon, to balance the sugar. It might be better to save room for a helping of eggs Florentine instead – which comes with brioche and creamed spinach and cheddar. They help bring it any closer to its Pune counterpart, but it’ll be while before it gets there.
