How to: Use illuminators
Light up your skin the right way
STEP TWO: Trace an imaginary ‘C’ from the high of your cheeks curving to under your brow. Dot it with an illuminator in tiny dots. If it’s a pressed powder, create the ‘C’ with help of a highlighter/blush brush.
Wondering how the pin-up girls seem to have perfectly porcelain skin that reflects light? One of the many reasons may just be the trick of an illuminator. When applied correctly, it gives the skin that gorgeous glow and reflects light flawlessly. Here’s how to do it right.
STEP ONE: Begin on a clean face prepped with foundation and concealer. Ensure you’ve covered your dark circles well before you begin applying the illuminator.
STEP THREE: The most essential step of applying an illuminator is blending. Make sure you do not blend it out too far; this will cause the light to diffuse and make the face look shiny, instead of giving it those dewy highlights we’re looking for. Blend following the curve of the ‘C’ by lightly tapping with fingertips.
