In pre-pandemic times, a regular Friday night had us heading to bars and breweries to unwind with our squad. Even though COVID restrictions have eased a bit and breweries have opened doors to the public, we understand if you’re not ready to get social again due to the trying times. If you’re a beer lover who doesn’t want to visit a brewery just yet, you need not worry. Your favourite craft beer can come to you! This International Beer Day, say cheers and celebrate with freshly brewed craft beer that now comes in bottles to your doorstep. Here are ELLE’s picks of where you can order it from:
1. Effingut
While Effingut serves the classics, we suggest you try some of the brewing company’s latest additions—Honey Ale and India Pale Lager. While the former has a punchy smell and taste of the locally harvested honey and mild fruitiness with a lingering hop bite on the palate, the latter is a more redefined version of a lager but with notes of tropical fruits and balanced bitterness.

2. Gateway Brewing Co.
If you’re a fan of Gateway beers, there’s good news for you. The legendary A1 IPA is back on tap but with few renditions. This beer gives a heady aroma of citrus and pine and features a deep golden colour with a tight white head. The generous quantities of malted barley give sweet tones, after which it finishes dry with a rounded but firm bitterness. The crowd-favourite is available in a 1 litre Pet bottle and Gateway’s Party Kegs, which hold 5 litres (around 15 glasses of beer).

4. Toit
If you reside in Bengaluru, enjoy a glass or two of the popular brewery’s latest additions, Aam Aadmi Ale (a refreshing, mango-infused ale) and Jamun Gose (blended with Jamun, sea-salt and coriander). Mumbai and Pune’s new flavours include the Goslar Sour and the Toit Nitro Cream Ale. The former is a traditional Gose with prominent saltiness that comes from Himalayan pink salt and a slight dough-y aftertaste from the wheat. The latter is a classic British Pale Ale in memory of Matt, Toit’s head brewer that features flavours he loved: distinct bready and malty flavours with a slightly nutty and toasty backbone.
