Karl Lagerfeld is being sued by sneaker giant New Balance. News emerged that the sports shoe label is prosecuting the creative director over a pair of trainers from his eponymous label, for its resemblance to the brand’s 574s and other initial-marked styles.
New Balance claims that Lagerfeld’s designed shoes have a block capital ‘K’ in place of its iconic ‘N’ made famous in the ’70s, but besides that, the shoes are the same.
The Kaiser’s leather and mesh trainers will set you back by $360, whereas New Balance’s sneakers that are all the rage right now, cost $106. Very little has been released about the lawsuit and we’ll be keeping a close eye on how this plays out.
