Jacqueline Fernandez will soon open her own restaurant in Mumbai
Expect Thai cuisine
Actress Jacqueline Fernandez is all set to add another feather to her cap — the star recently revealed that she will soon be launching her own Thai restaurant in the suburbs of Mumbai. In partnership with her best friend and restaurateur Mishali Sanghani, who owns Pali Village Café, the star has settled in on the popular suburb of Bandra as the location of her restaurant, since that is where she lives.
This is not the first time Jacqueline is entering the restaurant business — the actress already owns a fine-dining restaurant, Kaema Sutra, in partnership with chef Dharshan Munidasa in her hometown, Colombo. While Kaema Sutra offers authentic Sri Lankan food, her new venture won’t have the same cuisine. “I feel Mumbai needs a great Thai restaurant. There aren’t too many good ones out here and Thai food is one of my favourites. So the whole germ came from there,” Jacqueline was quoted as saying.
The star is currently deciding on the menu (which we’re sure is going to be a healthy one, given her love for fitness) and the décor (fun and quirky, just like her?). We can’t wait to dig in.
These are the restaurants loved by your favourite celebrities
It takes a lot to make fitness freak Katrina Kaif cheat on her fitness regimen, but she swears that the dim sum platter at Hakkasan, Mumbai is worth the infidelity. She also drowns all her seafood cravings at Gajalee, but doesn’t discriminate about the restaurant when it comes to paya with kadak pav.
It doesn’t take sky high Nike billboards to let you know that Deepika is a fitness freak; those washboard abs speak their own truth. But when the munchies do kick in, you’ll catch the Bajirao Mastani star at Ping Pong in London, digging into a platter of dim sums with a mountain of shopping bags at her side. Back home, she is known to frequent A-lister magnet, Olive Bar and Kitchen in Bandra at all times of the night.
Ruling all those international best dressed lists is stressful business, but Priyanka has got her priorities straight. “If I want to indulge or if I’m feeling stressed, especially before a red carpet appearance, I need to have a burger from In-N-Out (an American fast food chain). I like to balance my meals out, and I don’t believe that starving myself, or denying myself food I love, really helps,” she revealed in a recent interview.
Pre-stardom, Sonam was a card-carrying member at the Elco Paani Puri Centre in Mumbai. Now vegan, the actress indulges herself at, “The Pantry, because of the ambience and the organic ingredients that they source. The Table in Colaba is worth the visit if you are really celebrating an occasion, or like your food made from fresh, seasonal vegetables,” she divulged to a leading daily.
Malaika Arora Khan
Zero points for guessing why Malaika Arora Khan is seen almost daily at the healthy eating joint, Kitchen Garden. The fitness conscious actress tops off her gym dates with a smoothie run to the Bandra eatery.
Kareena Kapoor Khan
As a child, Kareena’s favourite food memory was digging into the sizzlers at Yoko’s, Mumbai. As she made inroads into Bollywood, she ensured that her diet was crafted around her love for indulgent food. She is now a regular patron at Wasabi at the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai, while the Pali Village Café serves as the backdrop for her (many) brunch dates with the squad.
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma
Eating out is one of the many casualties of being a reclusive couple in showbiz. But the Cantonese fare at Michelin-starred Hakkasan in Mumbai is enough to make them regularly brave the paparazzi.
