Did Janhvi Kapoor just pair a milk carton bag with her couture gown?

Is fashion broken? Can we fix it?

Once you’ve proven your mettle as a blue-blooded style connoisseur, you get the license to experiment with fashion the way no one has dared to. Whether it’s Janhvi Kapoor’s obsession with designer shoes (think: Balenciaga’s ugly sneakers, MM6 Maison Margiela’s boots) or iconic bags (no less than the Goyard Saint Louis and the Hermès Birkin), it’s evident that the young actor is a fashion insider who’s not afraid to break a rule or two. Remember the time she styled flip-flops with a lehenga? That mystery still remains unsolved.

Janhvi’s latest look from Isha Ambani’s engagement party, though, has all our attention: Decked in a strappy, pastel peach floral gown from designer Rahul Mishra, Janhvi looks fresh and all-natural, with floral-inspired headgear and matching earrings accentuating her ensemble.

The accessory that’s ostensibly standing out, however, is her quirky milk carton sling bag.

That’s right, folks, that’s Janhvi mixing up couture with eccentricity.

Her unconventional take on fashion has us wondering, have we been wrong about style right from the start?

So, don’t be shocked if you see me at your nearest supermarket shopping for milk in my handcrafted couture gown. It’s clearly a trend. Are you even keeping up?

All the times Janhvi and Sridevi were twinning:

All the proof you need that Sridevi and Janhvi have been twinning for years. Seriously, how cute are those denim dungarees?

The duo picked similar white and silver Manish Malhotra ensembles with matching earrings. Heck, they're even wearing their hair the same way.

The two shared a mutual love for all things classic... the white-shirt-and-blue-jeans combo included.

The mother and daughter are a vision in white, wearing outfits by their favourite designer Manish Malhotra (again).

Sridevi and Janhvi pick matching scarves, styled with oversized coats.

When Janhvi paid tribute to her mother by wearing her sari to collect her posthumous National Award.

How can a style connoisseur's wardrobe ever be complete without black?

Sridevi and Janhvi effortlessly pull off matching sleeveless white tops with contrasting trousers.

Sridevi was always up for experimenting, whether it meant skipping the traditional blouse and opting for a shirt to go with her lehenga. Clearly, Janhvi inherited that.

The mother and daughter dazzle in gold sequinned dresses.

Prints play an important role, too. It's interesting to note how Janhvi's outfit that she's worn in Dhadak is similar to Sridevi's sari from English Vinglish.

You almost won't recognised Sridevi here, but you will most definitely recognise her style that definitely inspired Janhvi.

The mother and daughter match their opulent side yet again.
