Other than being a showbiz triple threat, Jennifer Lopez is also in possession of that fountain of youth her contemporaries constantly seek. The singer-actress-producer is on the cusp of turning 50, but has the energy levels and skin texture of a woman two decades younger. Other than investing thousands of dollars every month in top-of-the-line dermatological treatments, Jennifer ensures her diet supports her quest for eternal youth.

Jennifer Lopez’s diet secrets

According to an interview with Us Weekly, the star revealed that her diet consists exclusively of organic produce. Naturally, veggies form the biggest part of her diet, supported by lean protein in the form of salmon, turkey and chicken. A typical Jennifer Lopez-approved salad would consist of broccoli, peppers, and zucchini drizzled with vinaigrette, while dinner might include “pork and chicken, especially Puerto Rican style” served with quinoa and baked sweet potatoes. Another favourite salad mix involves crispy kale topped with crumbled queso and toasted pumpkin seeds.

Celebrity-approved superfoods you should try

Jennifer Lopez’s love of quinoa and kale is something many of her Bollywood contemporaries can identify with. From Anushka Sharma to Jacqueline Fernandez, these are the dietary superfoods that India’s biggest stars are currently obsessed with.

Anushka Sharma

Any takers for cleansed, toxin-free skin? Draw up a chair next to Anushka Sharma and pour yourself some elderflower tea.

If you’re looking to steal her limber frame, make fast friends with muesli. The actor keeps her body charged in between meals by throwing together yoghurt and muesli. This protein rich snack creates an illusion of fullness by slowing up the movement of food through your digestive tract.

Sonam Kapoor

Topping the best dressed charts all the time sounds like a tiring job, but Sonam keeps her body in shape with a protein-rich diet of quinoa. Dietician Radhika Karle prescribed a diet of hummus, avocados, and grilled vegetables stuffed in a pita bread for Sonam's long spell at Cannes last year.

Jacqueline Fernandez

If there’s a new superfood in town, you can bet your oil-free crisps that Jackie has tried, Instagram-ed and pocketed a few million likes on it already. Kick your detox up a notch by downing some wheatgrass shots. This miracle superfood contains all minerals known to man and flushes out those toxins like yesterday’s news.

Late night snack cravings? Drown the munchies in a packet of kale chips.

Alia Bhatt

Dietician Rujuta Diwekar, who keeps an eagle eye on the diets of the fittest ladies in the biz, weaned Alia onto kokum and there has been no turning back. Alia likes her kokum blended into a chilled sherbet, and packed in plenty of it during the gruelling shoot of Udta Punjab.
