Moschino designer Jeremy Scott is teaming up with M.A.C Cosmetics for a collection of limited edition make-up housed in the ultimate throwback packaging. Scott broke the news on Instagram today, sharing that he designed “a boombox shaped eyeshadow palette consisting of 29 shades, a lip palette shaped like a tape cassette with a mirror, and a lil something for the cheeks in the form of a CD!”
Considering Moschino and Jeremy Scott’s namesake shows always bring major beauty moments on the runway (rhinestones, false lashes), it’s no surprise that Scott’s first beauty drop would favour the brighter side of beauty. Inside the Boombox shadow palette are 29 bold shades — ranging from stark white to ultra violet. But in true Scott fashion, it’s the packaging that will have people really talking. The oversized and intricately designed packaging looks like a boombox stereo from your childhood.
The lip palette is shaped like a cassette tape (remember those?) and has nine versatile shades from classic red to neon orange.
The CD-shaped cheek palette is perhaps the least universally flattering of the collection. Inside are three pans: one champagne highlighter, one peach blush, and one warm bronzer. Though all perfectly pretty, medium-to-light skin tones will likely get the most use out of the cheek palette.
The M.A.C Jeremy Scott collection launches on February 28th in select M.A.C locations and online.
