Photos of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in India — along with his highly photogenic First Family — are probably eating up your social media newsfeeds. The charismatic leader returns to India after 36 years, having travelled to the subcontinent with his father, Pierre Trudeau, a former Prime Minister.
Trudeau posted a photo outside the Taj Mahal, where he’s seen posing with his wife Sophie, daughter Elle-Grace, son Xavier and youngest son Hadrien.
The family then paid a visit to Sabarmati Ashram, the home of Mahatma Gandhi, in Gujarat. Dressed in matching kurta pyjamas, the couple and their brood first paid their respects to the Father of the Nation with a floral offering, before trying their hand at the Gandhiji’s symbolic charkha.
Justin called Sabarmati Ashram a “fascinating and beautiful place of peace.”
The First Family of Canada will travel back to Delhi where Sophie is scheduled to participate in a discussion on women’s economic empowerment with ELLE India’s editor, Supriya Dravid.
The family also met Shah Rukh Khan upon their arrival in Mumbai.
