Kama Ayurveda launches a new store in Mumbai

Plus, the brand has major plans to expand

Don’t know your way around Ayurveda? That’s ok. You can now step into the new Kama Ayurveda store in Mumbai and wrap your head around it. The brand has a strong network of stores in Delhi (with as many as 16 points of retail), but this is their first in Mumbai. At this new outpost, you can set up a consultation with an Arya Vaidya Pharmacy certified doctor, and find what’s right for you.

If you’d rather discover their products yourself we suggest you start with their Kumkumadi Brightening Ayurvedic Face Scrub – it’s packed with saffron essence and crushed almonds that gently exfoliate without stripping the skin of any moisture. There’s also a night serum variation of this, called the Kumkumadi Miraculous Beauty Fluid. Under hair care the Bringadi Intensive Hair Treatment Oil is a good buy for hair thinning and hair loss.

If you’re picking up one of their soaps – we love the woody Himalayan Deodar Soap or the Red Sandalwood – note that the brand only uses essential oils, and not artificial fragrances. Once you leave it in your bathroom, the fragrance will fade over time. For summer, we think their Rose And Jasmine Face Cleanser with 70 per cent aloevera is a winner.

The brand also has ambitious expansion plans. You can expect more stores around Mumbai (Powai, and the airport) and Bengaluru soon. The brand plans to make inroads internationally too. Already they’re seeing a lot of interest from Japan and Korea – they’ve even had their brochures printed in Japanese. Always a good sign.
