What’s the coolest thing you ever did for your BFF? Threw her a surprise party? Bought him season tickets to the IPL? Made her a memory book with every little highlight of your lives together carefully annotated in case she doesn’t remember the time you snuck your dad’s car out for a midnight ride before you were legally allowed to drive? Well, Kareena Kapoor Khan has taken your bar and raised it. 36,000 feet into the air, to be precise.
For her best friend Amrita Arora Ladakh’s birthday, Kareena and her gaggle of girls — including sister Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Maheep Kapoor, Seema Khan and Mallika Bhat — boarded the private party jet of India’s First Lady of Fabulousness, Natasha Poonawalla and took off to Goa for what we can only assume is the 40th birthday to end all 40th birthdays. Though this is Natasha ‘I party with Alessandro Michele and exchange recipes with Donatella Versace’ we’re talking about, so we could just be witnessing the first stop on a tour that could lead to a blowout bash in Cabo or a mid-week getaway to Ibiza. Or maybe they’ll just fly to Amrita’s favourite ice-cream joint in Pune because who needs traffic when you’re banking billions.
The wide array of wardrobe choices sported by the guests on board Airforce 1 haven’t helped us narrow down the locations either. Natasha’s fringe leather jackets and mirrored sunnies scream Coachella, while Kareena Kapoor Khan’s white blouson is giving us juice-cleanse-at-luxury-spa vibes. Karisma Kapoor looks like she’s late for a parent-teacher conference, while Saif — bringing the solo spot of testosterone to this hen party — just looks happy to have been invited.
