Katrina Kaif on being best friends with her ex Ranbir Kapoor’s current girlfriend, Alia Bhatt

No matter how difficult it may seem to be friends with your ex — let alone accept the fact that he/she has moved on and is currently dating your best friend — Katrina Kaif makes it look effortless. Whether it comes from a space of forgiveness or actually loving your BFF all the way to the moon, Katrina has made it clear that there’s no space for boy drama in her relationship with Alia.

In the latest episode of Koffee with Karan, Katrina said, “It isn’t tough for me to keep a good equation with Alia. Everyone needs to judge for themselves what’s best for them and how they want to handle their equations and their relationships. My equation with Alia is independent. My equation with Ranbir is independent and it is the same with Deepika. I have individual relationships with all.”

“We are not everyday phone conversation buddies, but I like who she [Alia] is. There is a certain enjoyment of each other’s company and a certain comfort and fun element that we have when we are together and it was a decision that I made. I respect and I value that relationship and it shouldn’t change for anything,” she added.

Katrina and Ranbir first started dating on the sets of Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahaani, and were together on and off for six years. They even moved in together, a fact that Alia is completely unaffected by.

Throwback to when Alia posted this Insta Story for Katrina

“I’ve known Katrina for a couple of years now. We got to know each other organically. It all happened when Kat and I started spending time in the gym. Today, she’s someone who I can say is my friend. I know I can count on her when I’m in trouble and she can count on me, for sure. She’s got my back and I’ve got hers,” Alia once said.
