Katy Perry arrives in India to headline her first concert

After her short visit in 2010, Roar singer Katy Perry is in India again. The singer-turned-music composer will be joined by British singing sensation (and Gigi Hadid’s bestie) Dua Lipa soon, for her performance this weekend in Mumbai. The singer who gave us New Rules took to Instagram to share her excitement of visiting the country for the second time by sharing a series of photographs from her last trip to the country.

Marking her debut live performance in the country, Katy took to Twitter to express her excitement regarding her return saying, “About time I got back to India”. While Katy and Dua will be headlining a concert this weekend, the line-up will also feature Amit Trivedi, Ritviz and popular bands The Local Train and Aswekeepsearching.

Katy intends to make the most of her time in Mumbai and take in the city. She spoke to Rolling Stone, saying, “I’ve always wanted to visit Mumbai, and I’m excited to spend some time exploring, immersing, and eating all things local.”

Ahead of the concert, Katy will apparently be meeting the who’s who of Bollywood in the week, thanks to the party godfather, Karan Johar. When it comes to socialising with international celebs, be it Ed Sheeran and Will Smith, KJO comes equipped with experience.

One thing is for sure: Instagram is going to be lit. Don’t believe us? Below is proof.

While this is all we know for now about the singer’s latest visit, Katy has a deep connection with the country, you might not know of. Not only did the singer meet her former husband Russell Brand in India, but also was proposed to, in front of Taj-Mahal in Agra and had a fairytale wedding in Rajasthan. Not only this, but after the couple got married, they also got matching tattoos on the inside of their respective right arms. The tattoo read Anuugacchati Pravaha which meant ‘go with the flow’.
