Kavita Bhartia is back on the runway at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week with her Spring/Summer 2015 collection. Inspired by chintz designs, the collection is “an ode to the karigars and master artisans working effortlessly behind the scenes to transform textiles into contours, along with indigenous craftsmanship,” said Bhartia. Expect to see a different take on dyeing and printing techniques, pleats, origami folds on skirts, and architectural jhaalis using sequins and zardozi.
Bhartia’s summer collection in khadi, cotton, georgette and summer lace will be in shades of ivory, white, mist green and pink – ideal for the hot months, with an occasional burst of bright colours and hints of black. Crochet and thread patterns will be used to highlight the collection of voluminous skirts, body contour tops, flowing gowns and contemporary kurtas.
Kavita Bhartia will showcase her Spring/Summer 2015 collection at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week on October 9.
