You might believe that being in front of the camera all the time requires a 12-step beauty routine, but fashion and beauty blogger Kayaan Contractor (ShapeShifter.in) is here to fight that misconception. Our August digital covergirl and ELLE Beauty Awards 2018 jury member is always ahead of the curve when it comes to her beautifully crafted editorials, but when it comes to beauty, she strongly believes in the less is more approach. If you need some advice on how to downsize your beauty kit and master some easy home remedies for maximum results, take note…

Stranded island fragrances

“I love floral fragrances in the day and my go-tos are Kenzo Flower and Gucci Bloom. For the evening, its all about being a powerful woman, so I prefer the Narciso Rodriguez EDP and Lady Million by Paco Rabanne  it’s such a classic."

Make-up go-to

“I don’t wear a lot of make-up on the daily, but I love a good mascara and a multi-tasking tint. I’ve been partial to the YSL Waterproof The Shock mascara because it doesn’t clump and has a great wand to coat the lashes evenly. I use the Josie Maran Lip and Cheek Gelee in Pink Paradise on my lips and as a blush to add a pop of colour.”

Skincare routine

“I have sensitive skin so I start my regimen by cleansing with Cetaphil, followed by massaging my face with a homemade toner made by freezing green tea ice cubes. To hydrate, I use a mix of the Clinique Moisture Surge with a little bit of the Clarins Boost Serum. On days where my skin feels super dry and I need a boost in radiance, I pick between the Kiehl’s Cranberry Seed And Turmeric Face Mask and Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum.”

Haircare agenda

“I’ve had blonde hair for a while now, so I’m currently using the L’Oreal Serie Expert Silver shampoo  it’s a purple shampoo that helps the blonde last longer and cuts out the yellowness. My latest find has been the Quinoa leave-in Conditioner and Quinoa leave-in Oil by 911 Special Edition. They’ve both been a saving grace to my blonde colour job and prevented my hair from frying out."
