Sreesha Shetty was considering a journalism career when she stumbled upon a jewellery supply shop, bought some tools and created her first piece with help from the shopgirl. Lune began in this way and grew just as simply: a few pieces sold via Instagram, then Etsy. That’s not to say the ride has been easy. Finding the right people to work and collaborate with has been a challenge, Shetty says. “It’s important to work or hire people who are self-aware and excited for the right reasons.” On Lune’s online store, the line of raw quartz and brass jewellery is a hot seller and the gypsy- and mystic-inspired pieces have found a fan in that poster child of boho-chic, Monica Dogra. Shetty is keen on keeping things affordable and varied; Lune also offers a selection of jewellery sourced during the designer’s travels that fits its nomadic aesthetic.
