Things you can’t miss doing when you’re in the city

Lahore brings you culture like no other city in Pakistan. From the old walled city – famous for its Mughal history and boasting magnificent structures like the amazing Badshahi Mosque, the famous Shahi Qila and the beautiful gurdwara – to its modern areas, like Gulberg and Defence, there is something for everyone. Here’s a little rundown of things you can do in Lahore.
The shopping
The oh-so-famous Khussa Mahal in Liberty Market offers traditionally crafted khussas and Kolhapuris in all colours and varieties. No one leaves here empty-handed.

If couture is your thing, head over to Mall 1, which hosts some of the biggest retail stores from Pakistan’s most famous designers, and pick up a piece or two that you can show off at home.

Tired out from all the shopping? Mocca is a quaint coffee shop, also located in Mall 1, that serves up a mean cup of coffee, some killer macarons and has a great takeaway menu featuring amazing paninis, among other things.

Living in luxury
The Nishat Hotel: The Nishat is Lahore’s latest offering. From its incredible design to state-of-the art rooms, the hotel is for those who love luxury – it’s modern and minimalistic, and could be mistaken for any of the best boutique hotels in Europe.

The Walled City: Seeped in history and soul-stirring stories from the past, the old town is a sight not to be missed. Take a walk down narrow alleyways, where street vendors are cooking up a storm. Or hire a guide and take a tour inside the city to gape in wonder at the amazing architecture of the Shahi Qila or Badshahi Mosque, as you listen to stories of Mughal emperors.
