London Fashion Week will be held phygitally from June 12 to June 14 this year. The British Fashion Council has announced that the fashion calendar will witness the amalgamation of womenswear and menswear. The designer presentations will be mainly digital along with “a number of Covid-secure physical activations happening in London in line with government guidelines,” as stated by the London Fashion Week team. Best known for her eclectic aesthetic sewed into eye-catching silhouettes, Ahluwalia will be presenting her collection digitally.
Fashion’s Commitment Towards Sustainability
This year, London Fashion Week will be a celebration of the environment, community and craftsmanship and will acknowledge the fashion industry’s carbon footprints. The presentations and fashion films will shine the spotlight on designers which are putting the environment first as well as emerging labels battling the impact the pandemic inflicted on them. Think names like Bethany Williams and her gender-fluid pieces made out of fabric scraps, blocks of tartan on coats and handbags made out of children’s lunchboxes.
First Digital Ready-To-Wear Brand On Roster

London-based brand Auroboros which specialises in physical couture and digital ready-to-wear is set to debut its 14-piece virtual collection titled Biomimicry. The presentation will enable the viewers to follow a live model donning the clothes which will transform in real-time and will be available for purchase post-show. This will make Auroboros the first fashion label to present a solely digital collection at a major international fashion week.
