Looking back: Wear Pink to Work Day 2013
We recount last year’s breast cancer awareness efforts
2013 commemorated the third year of Wear Pink to Work Day, an annual effort to raise awareness about breast cancer. 85,000 people dressed in shades of pink while 116 companies extended their support to the cause. A commendable Rs 1,68,000 was raised through this initiative, which went towards the Ogaan Cancer Foundation.
“With the Wear Pink to Work Day program, we hope to reach a new target audience for our message, and raise awareness among men as well,” said Archana Pillai, Director Ogaan Cancer Foundation. “After all, we know women are often self-sacrificing, putting their own needs last. And this is true when it comes to health decisions too. It’s time for us to acknowledge that a woman’s health should be a family priority too.”
We take a look back at all the people who were a part of last year’s efforts, making the initiative a success.
