New Louis Vuitton exhibit shows off the glamorous history of the brand

This fall, the history of iconic fashion brand Louis Vuitton is on full display in a new exhibit called “Volez, Voguez, Voyagez.” The show, whose title translates to “Fly, Sail, Travel,” opens today in the former New York Stock Exchange building, and the experience, is free for guests to visit; you need only to reserve a time online.

Curated by fashion historian (and Town & Country contributing editor) Olivier Saillard, the space is divided into ten different chapters and follows the French house’s 163-year journey to becoming one of the most recognized labels in the world. Highlights range from beautiful antique trunks to a skateboard that was part of Louis Vuitton’s recent collaboration with Supreme.

“Louis Vuitton has always been at the forefront of creation and innovation, today and over a century ago. Constantly taking inspiration from our past we craft the trends of today,” Louis Vuitton CEO Michael Burke said of the exhibit. “Olivier Saillard has immersed himself in the Louis Vuitton archives to decode its secrets. He delivers a fresh vision of our past, present and future.”

In addition to the exhibit, Louis Vuitton has opened a pop-up store in Brookfield Place with accessories, fragrances, and leather goods. While the exhibit closes in early January, the store will remain open through March.

“Volez, Voguez, Voyagez—Louis Vuitton” is open now at 86 Trinity Place in New York City through January 7, 2018. For more information on exhibition, including how you can plan your trip, visit louisvuitton.com.
