If you’ve loved Good Earth (and really, who doesn’t?) you’ll be glad to meet its cousin, Nicobar. The fashion and lifestyle brand has been launched by the very family that gave us Good Earth: Simran Lal and Raul Rai.
Like its namesake, it bears a relaxed tropical vibe. Think floaty summer dresses, polka dotted wrap dresses, and slinky chanderi skirts. The lifestyle section features simple and elegant home accessories and linen – picture slate platters, ivory sheets, and tropical printed cushions (the kind you’ve come to love Good Earth for). Did we mention it’s super affordable?
Simran Lal, co-founder and creative director, says “At Nicobar we are creating a new democratic vocabulary of design that blends global ideas with local and regional colour, fabrics and tastes. We are also working to introduce design in everyday living.”
You can check out the e-store – Nicobar.com – or drop by the flagship store at Kala Ghoda, Mumbai. “Nicobar was created to establish a modern Indian voice. We are a design led digital brand with physical experiential stores to complement our online experience. We want to create a democratic design identity that extends beyond the commercial realm into a new way of experiencing design in our everyday lives,” says Raul Rai, co-founder and CEOof Nicobar. (PS: You can expect at least seven stores across India over the next four years.)
