Having to drag yourself out of bed in this beautiful weather may be a harrowing task, but here’s something to brighten up your morning (or make you lock yourself in the closet and ugly-cry, as the case may be): the photos from Manish Malhotra’s 50th birthday bash are here and they are all kinds of gorgeous.
In case your invite got lost in the mail, here’s what you need to know: Manish Malhotra brought in his 50th birthday with a ‘gold and glamorous’ themed bash hosted by bestie Karan Johar. The Gatsby-esque wonderland boasted of a 54-foot long gilded bar, with bartenders who had been styled by Manish himself.
Anushka and Virat turned up arm-in-arm in co-ordinated outfits, all poised to take home the ‘most stylish couple to ever exist’ trophy. Not without a fight though: shortly after, Manish’s best friend and glowing mum-to-be Kareena turned up in a bold black gown with a plunging neckline and the dapper Saif Ali Khan on her arm. That noise you can hear is the sound of a thousand jaws hitting the floor. Looking criminally good in your third trimester: check.
Let’s not forget Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who turned up all-smiles in white; the latter wearing a flowing kurta by the man of the hour, Manish Malhotra himself.
Katrina and Alia added their share of sparkle to the night, in different shades of bling: while Katrina opted for a floor-sweeping, stop-traffic Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla gown, Alia turned up in a custom blazer dress, courtesy the birthday boy.
Sonam meanwhile looked to the Russian runways for inspiration, and picked a velvet gown from Yanina Couture with the cutest little ballerina detail on the puffed sleeves. We don’t know how you found that fairy godmother of yours Sonam, but any chance you are willing to share?
