Meet Mannat and Sirat Kaur, the twin sisters taking over the international fashion circuit

Fashion has become the frontline of diversity and 21-year-old Mannat and Sirat Kaur belong to the new generation of models who are championing ideas of representation. Born in Chandigarh, the twins moved to Miami at the age of nine. Both of them officially forayed into modelling after getting signed for the debut campaign of Marc Jacobs’ newly-launched label, The Marc Jacobs. Next was a co sign by singer-turned-entrepreneur Rihanna for LVMH-owned Fenty just two months prior to New York Fashion Week.

In November, 2019, they starred in their first campaign for Fenty. “We were in shock,” exclaims Sirat, “We couldn’t believe Rihanna wanted to know about us.” They’ve also walked for multiple new-age labels like Collina Strada, Sandy Liang, threeASFOUR and Vfiles for Spring 2020 at New York Fashion Week. The Kaur sisters are also DJs; Mannat is studying advertising in Florida and Sirat is studying statistics in New York. In India, they have worked with brands like NorBlack NorWhite.

On asking them about how they navigate their personal and professional relationship, Sirat says, “We love each other the most and probably hate each other the most. Having someone to share everything with is something we’ve always had and sometimes we take that for granted. I prefer working with Mannat because having her around relaxes me and puts me in a good mood.”
