Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just released their official engagement photos

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have chosen to release two official photos to mark their engagement and yes, they look seriously loved up. Kensington Palace shared the new images on Thursday morning on social media. They were taken earlier this week by fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski at Frogmore House in Windsor.

In the first snap, Prince Harry can be seen perched on the steps of the private royal residence, situated in the grounds of Windsor Castle where he will marry his fiancée in May 2018, holding onto his soon-to-be bride’s hand. Meghan, meanwhile is photographed leaning in close to her royal beau, wearing a sheer embelished black long-sleeved top with her chestnut-coloured hair cascading down her right shoulder.

Markle’s choice of clothing for the shoot is quite a bold move for the 36-year-old, given that it is rare for a member of the royal family to show off their shoulders during public or official appearances. In a black-and-white photograph of the pair, the newly-engaged couple are spotted canoodling, with Meghan gently caressing her fiancé’s face, showing off her engagement ring, as they close eyes together in a moment of bliss.

Following the release of the images, it’s widely rumoured Frogmore House may serve as the reception venue for the couple’s big day. Peter Phillips, son of the Queen’s daughter, Princess Anne, held his wedding reception there with Canadian Autumn Kelly in 2008, and it is mere metres away from St George’s Chapel, where Harry and Meghan will say ‘I Do’. Intriguingly, Frogmore House is where Harry introduced his then girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, to his grand-mother, the Queen, for the first time.

The photos come a day after Meghan spent the afternoon a the Royal Christmas luncheon at Buckingham Palace with her future in-laws, pulling crackers with Prince Charles and meeting her fiancé’s extended family. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will marry at Windsor Castle on 19 May 2018.
