Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s extravagant Bollywood-meets-Hollywood wedding will take place this weekend in Jodhpur, India, at an actual palace. But despite Priyanka attending Meghan’s royal wedding in England, Meghan and Harry will not be making the 11+ hour flight to be at Priyanka’s nuptials.
Multiple sources confirmed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s absence to Us Weekly, with one saying, “Meghan will not be going to Priyanka’s wedding, especially now that she is pregnant.” In addition to travel concerns, there are presumably also security concerns, something that reportedly prevented Meghan and Harry from attending the Oscars, another high-profile event, before. Priyanka and Nick themselves reportedly changed their pre-wedding events venue because of security issues.
Meghan, Harry, Priyanka, and Nick have all spent time together before though. In July, the week Nick proposed to Priyanka, Us Weekly reports that the two couples apparently had a secret double date at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s country home in Oxfordshire. E! reported that same week that Meghan approved of the two’s engagement and is “very excited” for them.
