Melania Trump’s jacket costs more than most Americans’ annual salary

Look, it’s not like politicians and their families wear cheap clothing. Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama have both come under fire for wearing $12,000 outfits. But Melania Trump just wore a $51,500 Dolce & Gabbana coat, which is about $7,000 more than the average American’s yearly salary.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average American made $846 a week in the last quarter of 2016, or approximately $44,148 a year. But of course, FLOTUS will be able to afford it with the tax break she and her husband get if AHCA is passed. And what’s 23 million uninsured Americans compared to such a fun jacket? Drain the swamp!

Dolce & Gabbana: Fall/Winter ’17

One of the few design houses who actively court Melania Trump — most others refused to be associated with the First Lady of the US because of her husband’s poor public image — Dolce & Gabbana have always relied on social influencers to boost their reach. At their fall/winter ’17 presentation, the label invited real-life princesses, fashion bloggers, veteran models and more to take over the ramp.
