Was this the most stylish weekend of 2017?

'Tis the season to get stylish, falalaa

By ELLE team  December 11th, 2017

This week saw some of the most stylish statements made all year from interesting colour combinations to A-grade layering and some hot new hair colour choices that we didn’t see coming. We saw a few new silhouettes courtesy Sonam Kapoor and in the case of Lisa Haydon’s hair, new colours. Rekha swapped her classic cat-eye liner for a millennial sunglass trend, schooling the gen-next on how it’s done. Kareena pulled the ultimate casual-not-casual ensemble. Whether this marks the beginning of party season or if it’s simply an indicator of fashion things to come, we’re undecided. But our couture senses are tingling.

The most stylish weekend in 2017:

Kareena Kapoor

'Children's party chic' is what this look should be called. Thigh-high boots would normally make a statement paired with anything else but that's how Kareena stays stylish even at events where style isn't required. A grey sweater paired with blue jeans and black thigh-high suede boots is the perfect trying-but-not-trying style look

Lisa Haydon

Platinum is the new black. Or so Kim Kardashian and Lisa Haydon would have you believe. Haydon may not be a musician but the model/actress just went triple platinum with her new hair.

Sonam Kapoor

Menswear inspired, this oversized suit with exaggerated sleeves is the ultimate in workwear fashion. Seriously, this Jacquemus suit will get you an immediate promotion. Those sleeves scream power moves

Rekha

Rekha in this pink sari will be what we think of when we look back on 2017. A shocking pink sari paired with round reflector sunglasses, gold earrings and more swag than an entire generation of younger stars.

Let’s not forget these red carpet scorchers at the Lux Golden Rose Awards:

Bhumi Pednekar in Sachin & Babi
Madhuri Dixit Nene in Mark Bumgarner
Katrina Kaif in Reem Acra
Pooja Hegde in Tony Ward Couture

Jacqueline Fernandez in Tarun Tahiliani

Kareena Kapoor Khan in Rami Al Ali couture
Deepika Padukone in Monisha Jaisingh
Alia Bhatt in Teuta Matoshi Duriqi
