If you’re about to undertake some serious spring-cleaning, make room for a new label: NADINE by Nadine Dhody. The fashion management graduate from London College of Fashion has been chipping away at a 35-piece collection for almost eight weeks now, and today it’s officially entering multi-designer store Bandra 190 in Mumbai.
“I design easy-to-wear outfits with beautiful and intricate embroidery detailing,” says Dhody. The contemporary line features evening-appropriate embroidered dresses. And she’s employed fabrics like tulle, georgette, chiffons, Lucknowi chikan and lace.
Dhody cut her teeth at her mother Rita Dhody’s export house after college. Naturally, her early experiments involved making clothes for herself and her friends. Her new line (which is priced between Rs 25,000 and 85,000) is extension of her personal style, and she hopes to create “clothes that celebrate the femininity of women”.
NADINE by Nadine Dhody is available at Bandra 190, Savanna Court, Turner Road, Bandra (West), Mumbai. Tel: 022 2655 3883
