Naushad Ali imagines seamless saris at Lakme Fashion Week 2017
You won't ever drape a sari the old way again
If you’re filled with an incessant itch to book tickets to Goa after reading this, blame it on Naushad Ali. The designer’s Summer/Resort 2017 collection at Lakme Fashion Week 2017 opened on a whimsical note, and the good news just continued from there.
Unstitched, seamless saris commanded eyeballs on the runway in the form of draped kaftans, pleated maxi skirts and one-sleeved cholis, all sprinkled with a generous dose of tassels. The designer even ventured into semi-formal territory with a looped hemline maxi and a chiffon cowl drape.
