Wait, is Neha Dhupia married to Angad Bedi?

While the whole world was distracted by Sonam Kapoor's wedding shenanigans

Neha Dhupia married Angad Bedi and we’ll be the first to admit we did not see that coming. And by the reactions of their friends and Bollywood colleagues on Instagram, all of whom were distracted by Sonam Kapoor’s wedding shenanigans, nobody else did either. Neha Dhupia posted a loved-up photo with fellow actor and new husband Angad Bedi on Instagram, with the caption, “Best decision of my life.. today, I married my best friend. Hello there, husband!”

Update: Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi just released a statement on their super-secret marriage: “Marrying your best friend is one of the greatest feelings in the world, and we are extremely fortunate to have found love in each other. It has been a beautiful journey knowing each other and after formalizing the wedding earlier this year, today, we exchanged our vows in a beautifully simple, private and intimate Anand Karaj ceremony in Delhi. We look forward to celebrating and sharing this special moment with our friends and colleagues in Mumbai in the next couple of weeks. Thank you for showering us with so much love. Your blessings have truly made this day so much more special.”

We weren’t sure what to make of it (could this be the smartest movie promotion tactic ever…) until Karan Johar responded to the news with an ecstatic repost, “The look of love!!! The marriage of eternal happiness!!!! #nehaangad CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!” Kunal Khemu soon followed that with his own congratulations, saying “So happy for these two, Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi. Wish you an incredible journey together. Love you both. Shaadi Mubarak.”

Angad Bedi posted another photo of him staring lovingly at his new bride Neha Dhupia with the caption, “Best friend.. now Wife!!! Well hello there Mrs BEDI!!!”

Neha Dhupia wore a gorgeous pastel pink lehenga from designer Anita Dongre (the bridal colour theme of the season, if you recall Sonam Kapoor’s pheras) while the groom matched her in a white bandhgala and pink turban.

Echoing all our thoughts, photographer Atul Kasbekar posted on Neha’s Instagram saying, “One tight whack for this whole super secret thing. Other than that, I love you guys.”

Neha Dhupia married Angad Bedi in a secret ceremony… just like these celebrities

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

The former couple and co-founders of the world's prettiest gene pool tied the knot in a vineyard in France in 2014 with just their children present. Unfortunately, the marriage dissolved in three years, ending in animosity as the couple battled over custody of their children.

Beyonce and Jay-Z

Why have a big blow-out wedding when you can get married in secret in your own apartment and only reveal the details many years later via internet-busting music videos? Makes sense...

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux

Jennifer Aniston told guests that she was having a birthday party so everyone was woefully underdressed for this celebrity wedding. But we hear the buffet was delicious.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds

Denying the world the chance to ogle at two beautiful humans declaring their undying love for each other is kinda unfair, but Ryan Reynolds more than makes up for it now with his frequent and unfettered PDA. All's well that ends well.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma

How dare you have your dream wedding in Tuscany in a Sabyasachi lehenga, Virushka? It was all so sudden, we didn’t even get to guesstimate how much you spent on overweight baggage carrying all the lehengas and jewellery to Italy. The Internet was cheated of the chance to suggest truffle Parmesan kulcha as a viable option for the wedding buffet. Sure Virat, you can have Sunil Gavaskar telling us things we didn’t need to know about every cricket match broadcasted ever. But when it comes to your wedding, the biggest day of your life, there’s not even Navjyot Singh Sidhu giving us a play-by-play. What gives? We did however appreciate the courtesy function in Mumbai post the legit nuptials
