Net-a-porter launches Net-a-sporter

Here’s proof that sportswear trend isn’t going anywhere. Net-a-porter is all set to launch a sub-site called Net-a-sporter (what else!) on July 9.  The category will be home to 37 specialist performance wear brands that cater to 11 different types of sports such as yoga, ballet, tennis or golf which can be worn outside the gym too.

Over the past few seasons, there has been an influx of sportwear on and off the runway. Chanel paired its couture dresses with trainers, whereas at Dior we saw embroidered trainers. According to Net-a-Porter the launch comes in light of a desire to build on their current offering of active wear and broaden it by creating a dedicated category for sport.

Net-a-sporter will provide a range of athletic wear designers like Weargrace, Bodyism, MONREAL London, Ballet Beautiful, Jawbone bracelets, and L’Etoile Sport the same online platform as their regulars Adidas by Stella McCartney, Splendid, and Nike. Zimmermann and Lisa Marie Fernandez have also created exclusive capsule collections for the site.
