With the Qutub Minar looming in the background, a heritage property becomes a modern mecca for Indian fashion. Helmed by Samegh Batra of the House of Sunrydge, seven shopping spaces — Indian by Manish Arora, Pankaj & Nidhi, Rabani & Rakha, Namrata Joshipura, am:pm by Ankur and Priyanka Modi, Amit Aggarwal (his first standalone store) and Marigold Watches — can now be found under one roof: The Kila at Seven Style Mile. Futuristic couture, shiny cocktail dresses, fluoro bridal lehengas, minimalistic prints, luxe watches — this is your excuse to spend lots of time looking for a little bit of everything.
Here’s what the designers setting shop in The Kila have to say-
Manish Arora
“A heritage property overlooking the Qutub Minar is hard to resist; and next to impossible to find these days. Our store is vibrant and fun, aimed at making anyone who enters happy.”
Namrata Joshipura
“We are excited to have a space that juxtaposes heritage with modernity — this is a rarity in a retail world that is increasingly becoming about malls.”
Priyanka Modi
“We want to make it one of those exquisite experiential places, a sort of retreat in a quiet corner of the city where time seems to move a little slower.”
Amit Aggarwal
“The interiors of our store were designed with references from spaceships; detailed with floating bodies and suspended hanger racks, to give a feeling of anti-gravity, freedom and weightlessness.”
Pankaj Ahuja
“Gone are the days when one made a trek to buy a single brand. Plus, how wonderful is it to be in breathing distance of this immense, awe-inspiring structure?”
Gautam Rakha
“The whole idea of being here was to put the right people together in this beautiful space, who offered the best choices possible.”
