"I don’t really know how to do casual clothes", Oscar de la Renta famously said. The designer known to make ready-to-wear with the grandeur of couture gave many a show stopping moment. Remember Jackie O walking through the streets of Udaipur wearing the beautiful apricot silk dress? Or the gold sequin gown that Hillary Clinton wore to the second inaugural ceremony of Bill Clinton, which some say she designed with De La Renta himself. From Glenn Close to Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore to Amy Adams, many A-listers made his creations red carpet regulars. Most recently, De La Renta had women falling in love with fairy tales again with the the dreamy lace gown he designed for George Clooney’s bride, Amal Alamuddin.
