Commenced in 1929, the Oscar Awards hold a prestige that is one of its kind. While the awards are all about honouring the best in the craft, the red carpet is the place that witnesses some remarkable looks. It’s no secret that beauty and fashion have evolved monumentally in the last decade, and the red carpet looks testify that. As we’re approaching the 93rd Oscars, here’s a round-up of the most iconic and unforgettable beauty looks on the red carpet in the last decade.

Angelina Jolie, 2012

Keeping her feisty spirit intact, Jolie opted for a bright cherry red lip along with kohled eyes and dewy skin.

Anne Hathway, 2013

Hathway set new standards for a pixie cut on the red carpet. The rosy pink lips were the standout of her youthful makeup that was further enhanced with well-defined dark brows, a thick wing and blushed cheeks on matte skin.

Margot Robbie, 2014

Margot Robbie exuded a vintage charm in a matte wine lip colour to complement her black dress. With sharp brows and natural lashes, it was her brunette side-parted hair with soft curls that stole the show.

Kiera Knightley, 2015

Kiera Knightley looked nothing less than a princess in this flawless make-up and wavy hairdo, which she embellished with a headband.

Rooney Mara, 2016

Rooney Mara’s well-sectioned three bun hairdo garnered all the attention on the red carpet that year. She teamed her neat and slick hair with a deep maroon lip, slightly blushed cheeks and smoky eyes.

Olivia Wilde, 2016

Flaunting yet another striking hairdo was Wilde with a side-braided bun. She looked ethereal in the no-makeup makeup look with a fine black eyeliner and glistening skin.

Halle Berry, 2017

The Catwoman star took our breath away with his stunning hairdo, which complemented her nude lips and bronze skin.

Janelle Monae, 2017

The beautiful singer bedazzled the crowd with her cute pixie, which was accessorised with a studded headband. And 10 points for bushy brows!

Olivia Culpo, 2017

We were mesmerised by Culpo’s gorgeous lavender smoky eyes teamed with nude lips.
