For the Chanel Cruise 2016 show, Karl Lagerfeld decided to take his crew to Seoul. It was hosted in the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, where Lagerfeld sent out 96 looks, which ranged from ultra-glam to laidback. Models took to the ramp in colourful clothes featuring Korean patchwork techniques, and sported hairstyles inspired by South Korean period dramas. We didn’t miss the signature Chanel pieces – like the iconic 2.55 and the signature camellia, which were given a cool new spin. Both, the runway and the collection, had plenty of popping colours; pink and blue being the dominant ones. And even though the show clashed with the Met Gala, it saw the likes of Kristen Stewart, Gisele Bündchen and Tilda Swinton and all the who’s-who of the Korean fashion industry in attendance.
