Outhouse’s collection ‘The Stallion’ re-imagines the choker in new and exciting ways

If you, like the rest of the world, can’t get enough of the 90s accessory staple, the choker, then you’re going to love Outhouse’s latest collection ‘The Stallion’. The jewellery label puts its own spin on the accessory of the moment and presents a collection of necklets with the stallion as an icon and central theme. “When it comes to the collection, we continued with our Signature Outhouse Stallion as the centre for the chokers as a representation of the Outhouse woman who is strong, graceful and glamorous. The collection came about as a festive addition with crystals and pearls and provides a perfect solution for your day to night wardrobe,” said Kaabia Grewal, co-founder of the label.

One of the most striking things about the collection is the versatility it presents in terms of styling. “With tie up and clasp styles, each choker can be worn in about 5 different ways which makes it perfect for any ensemble type; Indian or contemporary. We’ve used metal, tassels and beautiful Maison Martin Margeila crystalactite and some chokers also offer features like interchangeable suede ribbons and stones for the convenience of the wearer,” says Grewal on the multi-functionality of the collection.

Taking forward this theme, the campaign for the collection features women from diverse backgrounds, who have their own unique style. Shot by Anushka Menon, at the private members club À Ta Maison, the campaign features style influencers like Pernia Qureshi, Ambika Anand Diva Dhawan, Kaabia Grewal herself and ELLE’s own Malini Banerji. “I have already worn one of the chokers to a fashion event and made sure everything else in the look was played down and the only thing that got noticed was the sparkles on my neck. Love how pearls are so classic and yet can be worn by just about anyone,” says Banerji on Outhouse’s Stallion necklets, while Ambika Anand added, “It’s fun, seriously creative, edgy and versatile like my work personality which entails doing travel and fashion related shows as well as celebrity interviews. It’s au courant and edgy can be worn with tatters or treasures in your wardrobe and instantly update your look.”

The Stallion Necklet capsule is priced between Rs 12,000- 18,000 and is available at Outhouse’s flagship stores at New Delhi and Bangalore.
