Padmaja brings tranquil handlooms to the forefront at LFW

Give the bodycon and bandage dresses a breather; designer Padmaja Krishnan wants you to embrace fluid silhouettes. The label's Summer/Resort 2017 collection at Lakme Fashion Week was a study in the virtue of asymmetrical, relaxed drapes.

Loose A-line dresses, asymmetrical poncho blouses and draped togas found favour on the ramp, with the head-turner being the slashed wrap-dhoti pant. Living up to the name of the collection, 'Light of the Sun' channelled delicate hues of yellow, white and ashy blues.
