If you didn’t know the name Faraz Manan before, commit it to memory now. The Lahore-based couturier has scored two major wins this past month alone, with Jacqueline Fernandez wearing a traffic-stopping red sari by the designer to Aamir Khan’s Diwali bash, only a week after Kareena Kapoor Khan was spotted in a blush-pink salwar kameez at a store launch. Known for his luxury bridal ensembles, Manan made a name for himself catering to Pakistan’s richest families. Only recently, London-based fashion blogger Anooshe Mussarat (her family is originally from Pakistan) wore his custom-made creations during her high-profile wedding.
In an interview with Dubai’s Khaleej Times, the designer threw some light on his unlikely friendship with Kareena, saying, “Working with Kareena (Kapoor) has been great! We are good friends now, and have a blast working together. She is perfectly suited for my brand’s aesthetics and carries the outfits well. She has also been the face of our Crescent Lawn collection for the past couple of years, and is something of a muse to me.’’ Kareena also attended his couture show that happened in Dubai in April this year, dressed in a metallic gown with a plunging neckline from his new collection.
