It looks like Paul Smith’s signature colourful stripes have found their way on to Lladró’s porcelain figures. As part of the ‘Guest’ series, the Spanish brand has invited Smith to paint over two figurines created specially by artist and designer Jaime Hayon.
This is the sixth installment of the ‘Guest’ series, with previous collaborators including American artist Tim Biskup and the Japanese studio Devilrobots. And Smith’s figurines don’t disappoint. Covered in confetti and cute masks, the dog and cat creations draw from the designer’s colourful and geometric universe. Each piece from the collection is handcrafted in Lladró’s ateliers in Valencia.
Can’t wait to get your hands on one of these? The porcelain figurines are available online at PaulSmith.co.uk, Lladro.com and at select Paul Smith shops. But they come with a hefty price tag – the large figure will set you back 1,800 pounds, and the smaller one is priced at 540 pounds.
