The time has finally come! Following the news that Kate Middleton is pregnant with her third child, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced they are engaged. The news comes months after the British royal reportedly received the Queen’s approval to pop the question to the 36-year-old actress. The pair recently returned from a three-week holiday to Botswana and Zambia, where the 32-year-old was rumoured to have popped the question during a visit to one of the seven natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls.
Clarence house has officially confirmed the engagement today, 27th November 2017

After confirming their relationship last October via Kensington Palace, in a statement which condemned the press’ harassment to his girlfriend emphasising that their romance ‘is not a game—it is her life and his’, the pair have since enjoyed the whirlwind romance of fairytales.

Over the past year, Prince Harry has jetted across the world to stay with his Toronto-based girlfriend, driven a 100-mile round trip to pick her up from his home in London to attend Pippa Middleton’s wedding in May, and invited the star as his plus one to his best friend’s wedding in Jamaica.
Last month, Zara Phillips’ husband Mike Tindall revealed Markle would be ‘absolutely fine’ adapting to the ‘nerve-wracking’ royal life, if she was to marry the prince.
“She has been under enough scrutiny and pressure in her day-to-day life so I’m sure she will get through it. She will be fine,” he told the Sunday People.
Following in the footsteps of Queen and Prince Philip, Princess Diana and Prince Charles, and his brother Prince William and Kate Middleton, a spokesman for Westminster Abbey has said Prince Harry will be able to marry the Suits actress, following debate as to whether he could marry a divorcee in the famous abbey.
“The Abbey follows the General Synod Ruling of 2002. Since then it has been possible for divorced people to be married in the Church of England,” said a spokesperson according to the Express.
The spokesman also confirmed the actress’ Jewish background (her father is reportedly Jewish) would not prevent her from having an ‘interfaith’ marriage to her 32-year-old royal beau.
It has long been believed Meghan and Harry were on the path to marriage given Markle’s public behaviour of late.
In April, the California-born star shut down her lifestyle blog The Tig after three years and announced the news via her final post to Instagram, following news she might be quitting her role on Suits to move in with her now-fiancé at Kensington Palace, London.
The star has also been upping her philanthropist and activist efforts in recent months.
Earlier this year, the star wrote an empowering letter about the stigmitisation of menstruating women in India and recently took part in a photo shoot alongside ‘global leaders’ including Emma Watson and Canadian President Justin Trudeau, to promote gender equality.
Congratulations Meghan and Harry!
