We’re getting breathless keeping track of all the roles actor-entrepreneur-humanitarian Priyanka Chopra juggles with a smile (and a time travelling machine, clearly). But the international star is nothing if not an overachiever, and she proved our point by hanging out with three real-life superwomen in a week.
Remember when her responsibilities as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador took her to Jordan, and scored her a private audience with the inspiring Queen Rania.
“Queen Rania is a true inspiration. Her tireless efforts to help those in need comes straight from the heart and has always been consistent,” Priyanka posted on her Instagram. “As a UNICEF Eminent Advocate for Children, she leads by example as is so evident by the countless programmes for children that she is involved in. She does this all with such grace and calm. The meeting and our discussions, further reiterated my commitment to to help children the world over… because every child matters, no matter where they come from.”
Fast-forward to a week later at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where Priyanka is currently on speaker duties, and she’s now exchanging secret notes in Hindi/Urdu with the youngest winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Malala Yousafzai.
“I could write a novel about how smart, incredible, inspiring, encouraging and funny this young woman is…but I will keep it brief,” Priyanka posted, adding, “Malala, you are an undeniable force to be reckoned with. The world knows that. You are a role model to all the girls and boys that want to make this world a better place for the future. Spending a few hours with you and your incredible father Mr. Yousafzai ( who reminds me so much of my father) , I realized you’re also just a young girl with young dreams. Your jokes, Your love for Hindi Films, your infectious laughter will always remind me of what a huge responsibility you have taken on at such a tender age.. I’m so proud to know you my friend.”
And just when you thought the girl power in the room couldn’t get bigger, Priyanka finds herself arm-in-arm with Gloria Steinem, the original feminist bosslady.
“It’s was so incredible to be on a panel with @gloriasteinem . An icon to the world and definitely one of mine all my life. A true feminist. A fearless fighter for women’s rights no matter what, no matter who, no matter where… everything about this legendary woman is selfless. She will never stop. She told me herself. Nor will I.”
