Two of the best known female desi actors, Priyanka Chopra and Mindy Kaling, may be combining forces—if recent paparazzi photos are any indication. The duo met up in New York City and were clicked as Priyanka hugged Mindy goodbye.
The powerhouses and former ELLE India cover stars have broken stereotypes and glass ceilings alike, by helming their own TV shows (Priyanka with Quantico and Mindy with The Mindy Project) and making it big in an industry where Asian or Indian representation is often lip service. Media reports suggest that the duo met earlier as well and that a movie is in the works.

While they haven’t made an official announcement yet, one thing is for sure—their collaboration is bound to leave us shook.
Currently, Priyanka is shooting for The Sky is Pink, while Mindy is working on a Netflix sitcom about the life of a modern-day, first generation Indian-American teenage girl.
