Priyanka Chopra’s secret to avoiding shiny summer skin is almost too simple

In an unexpected and, because we’re still British, rather unwelcome turn of events, England has decided to be unreasonably hot. Yes, you could argue that it’s summer and that tends to be part and parcel of the whole ‘season’ thing, but frankly we’re not used to it, and it’s stressing us out.

Work appropriate outfits for 32 degree heat? Yeah, we can muster one. Commuter friendly sandals? We’ve lost two toes to the post-match celebrations. But layering confusion and being able to see our boss’s bare feet aside, it’s the sheer sweatiness of the situation that’s getting to us.

Mmmm..the sun got me like

Which is where actress, activist and all round absolute woman goals Priyanka Chopra comes in.

Whether sunning herself before the royal wedding, or hanging out in Beverly Hills in a pair of sunglasses that have gone straight on our ‘need it yesterday’ list, Priyanka always looks flawless.

The secret? The most simple skincare trick you’ve ever heard.

Yup, speaking to Harper’s Bazaar US in a behind-the-scenes video, Chopra’s make-up artist Pati Dubroff revealed her effortless technique for avoiding sweaty shiny skin:

‘Moisturiser is important, but you don’t put it everywhere. You don’t want a shiny centre, so moisturiser on the perimeter of the face. Hydration in the areas where you want the glowiness.’

How to stop the unwanted shine a la Priyanka? Simply moisturise the edges of your face, not the middle. Mind. Blown.

Using Augustinus Bader The Cream to hydrate around the edges of Chopra’s face, Dubroff then went on to apply a matte primer to the 35-year-old’s T-zone.

‘Then, mattification in the centre, where you’re going to want to be more matte, but you don’t want to use a lot of powder, because powder is so ageing,’ she explained.

Et voila! Sweat-defying matte skin is officially yours.
